DESCRIPTION:As part of our support for the BIOS initiatives to identify instruments for their Historic Organs at Risk Register we are organising a playing visit to Walsall Town Hall (originally Nicholson & Lord 1908 IVP64) and Darlaston Town Hall (J J Binns 1903 IIIP33) – both rarely used organs- and Central Methodist Church\, Walsall (originally Nicholson & Lord c. 1890 IIIP36). We need to provide an advance list of attendees to Walsall Town Hall – please let James Coupe know if you plan to come.

DESCRIPTION:Dr Jim Berrow will give an illustrated talk on the gothic revival and organs.  The Church of the Ascension\, Malvern Link (known locally as Belmont Cathedral) was built in 1902 in the Early English style\,  and is the work of the architect Sir Walter Tapper.  The organ\, by Hunter IIP11 (undated)\, is one of only a few in the Midlands and will be presented and available for members to play.
