• Talk on SS Wesley by Roger Judd

St Michael's, Tenbury Wells Oldwood Road, Tenbury, United Kingdom

This will celebrate the 150th year of SS Wesley's death in 1876 and will be illustrated by organ pieces (Choral Song, Larghetto in F♯ minor, Introduction and Fugue in C♯ minor) and choral works (including Blessed be the God, Ascribe unto the Lord and Thou wilt keep him) sung by Amici Coro, and  will be followed by 'al fresco' refreshments afterwards.  We are delighted to welcome members of Gloucestershire OA to this event,  and friends from other associations are also very welcome.

  • “Craftsman’s art and music’s measure”

Church of the Ascension, Malvern Link Somers Park Avenue, Malvern, United Kingdom

Dr Jim Berrow will give an illustrated talk on the gothic revival and organs.  The Church of the Ascension, Malvern Link (known locally as Belmont Cathedral) was built in 1902 in the Early English style,  and is the work of the architect Sir Walter Tapper.  The organ, by Hunter IIP11 (undated), is one of only a few in the Midlands and will be presented and available for members to play.
